Our Team
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts are specially trained individuals that have all completed at least a Master’s degree program specializing in ABA therapy course. They are also required to complete a minimum amount of hands on training hours under the training and supervision of another Board Certified Behavior Analyst before sitting for their exam. Each BCBA is also licensed through the state of Alaska.
Behavior Independence also provides continuous career development for each BCBA through seminars, webinars, courses, and other trainings offered by expertise in the field.
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapist is specially trained and has completed at least a Master’s degree program specializing in OT. Our OT is also licensed through the state of Alaska as well as through their National Board.
Behavior Independence also provides continuous career development for each OT through seminars, webinars, courses, and other trainings offered by expertise in the field.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
All Registered Behavior Technicians are required to complete a standardized and Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved 40 hours training program. Once completed the technician will complete a set number of hands on training under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA before sitting for the RBT exam. Once they are certified they are required to complete 5% supervision by a BCBA or BCaBA of their monthly direct hours with their clients.
We also provide on going trainings both hands on and online in order to keep our technician’s skills current and refreshed.
Training and Development
Behavior Independence provides multiple opportunities for all staff to continue their career development as well as hosts mandatory trainings regularly to ensure the highest level of therapy. Trainings include Webinars, Seminars, Conferences, CEU Courses, Continued Education, Hands on Training, and Safety Trainings.
All Behavior Independence staff are required to have current BLS/CPR training as well as are all Mandated Reporters in the state of Alaska.
