Behavior Independence is currently hiring for Registered Behavior Technicians in all locations.

What is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certificated individual. This individual works under the supervision and direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior analysis services directly to clients. Primarily our RBTs will work directly with individuals between the ages of 18 months to 21 years of age by implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. All programs and treatment plans are created by the supervising BCBA and the RBT will be trained on how to implement these programs.

How to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?

In order to become an RBT, an individual needs to complete an accredited RBT 40 hour training program (most are online). Once completed they will complete a Competency Assessment completed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in person. At this point the individual be be eligible to send in their application to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in order to receive the approval to sit for the RBT exam. Most exams are completed at a Pearson Testing Site. Once you pass the exam you are officially a Registered Behavior Technician!

Behavior Independence provides hands on training as well as guidance through the training and competency process to those interested in a career in ABA as a Registered Behavior Technician. This is a great entry level position for individuals wanting to work in psychology, healthcare, social work, or child development.

Why Work for Behavior Independence

Collaborative Culture

Whether you are an administrator, BCBA or a brand new RBT, we strive to create a collaborative culture among all staff. This means that if you have an idea or want to share your thoughts on how we are doing and what we can do better, we want to hear it. Not only do we want to hear it but we work with our team to implement these new ideas. Everyone should feel heard.

Ownership Mentality

In an Ownership culture, employees share in the personal desire to see and ensure success. Employees are given opportunities to oversee, start, or take part in different programs or areas of the company in order to give them a sense of ownership. These are your projects and their success or failure is reflective of your own desire and hard work, along with your willingness to collaborate with your team.

Family First…. ALWAYS

We serve families first and foremost, but our team cannot serve our families at their fullest if their own families are struggling. This is why we have created a family friendly environment that allows you to take care of your family while performing your best at work. We don’t believe you should ever have to apologize to your boss for taking care of your family.

Military Friendly

Being surrounded by Military bases and serving a large number of military families, we pride ourselves on being military friendly. Both owners, come from being military spouses and we know the struggle of trying to find quality and fulfilling careers with a sporadic resume. That is why Behavior Independence sees military affiliation as a strength and we welcome all military affiliated individuals to join our team.

Community Impact

As a company we are working towards making a substantial impact in the lives of the families in our community. ABA Therapy allows us a glimpse into the family unit and the needs and stresses that are found there. We want to help navigate those needs, where to find support, and how to help manage those stressors. As we grow as a company we will take on new programs to add to our services that directly align with our goal to better support the family as a whole in our community.

We all have a Niche

We want to help each of our team members find their niche… what inspires them…. what are they naturally drawn to. We want our team to be passionate and continuously striving to better themselves. This is where finding your niche comes in. Once you find that thing that you are truly passionate for and align it to our company mission we can make a real difference.
